SUMMARY:
Ummat International Hospital (UIH) is seeking an experienced and professional Nursing Station Manager to coordinate and supervise nursing staff within assigned clinical areas. The position is responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, high-quality, and patient-centered nursing care while maintaining professional standards in a tertiary care hospital environment.
Description
- Coordinate and supervise nursing staff across assigned wards and clinical stations.
- Prepare and manage duty rosters, shift schedules, and staff allocations.
- Ensure adequate nurse-to-patient coverage at all times.
- Monitor nursing staff performance, attendance, punctuality, and professional conduct.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, infection prevention protocols, and patient safety standards.
- Conduct regular nursing rounds and monitor the quality of patient care.
- Manage shift handovers and ensure continuity of patient care.
- Investigate and report clinical incidents, patient complaints, and safety concerns.
- Mentor and support newly recruited and junior nursing staff.
- Collaborate with physicians, department heads, and hospital administration to improve clinical operations.
- Maintain accurate nursing records, reports, and documentation.
- Participate in quality improvement and accreditation activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSc Nursing) from a recognized institution.
- Valid nursing registration or professional license in Afghanistan.
- Minimum 5 years of clinical nursing experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership position.
- Experience in ICU, emergency, surgical, or tertiary care settings is highly desirable.
- Strong leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
- Knowledge of nursing quality standards, infection prevention, and patient safety practices.
- Strong skills in team management, staff coordination, scheduling, clinical decision-making, problem-solving, time management, and organization.
